This office is looking for just the right individual to support the front office team; ideally this is an individual who has a background that includes dental assisting so that they understand both the clinical terms used in explaining treatment to patients, as well as the firsthand knowledge of how dental appointments are timed and how they typically sequence. Additionally, having at least 2 years experience with Dentrix, general understanding of how to use the appointment reminder system (Lighthouse), understanding basic scheduling principles for both hygiene and restorative, familiarity with insurance verification, ability to post payments, collect patient portions, and excellent telephone skills. Relationships with patients are important, and so a high level of emotional intelligence is required to meet the patient’s expectations with excellent customer service, while still staying within the overall business framework. The position would also require a candidate to be open and teachable in order to learn the office systems, (including the scheduling templates that are heavily influenced by Spear principles) and applying constructive feedback during the onboarding process. This office has a fun and supportive team who value honesty, hard work, good attendance, focus and efficiency while on the job, and at the same time have a common goal of being able to disengage from work at the end of the day to spend time with family, friends, pets and hobbies that help keep the work/life balance in check.
Software used is Dentrix/Dexis.
Total number of employees is 11 with the longest tenured at 25 years.
This office is family owned in the area since 1968; longtime, loyal patients that are easy to work with. Staff has worked hard to create defined office roles and systems. Important that all employees are on the same page and adhering to the agreed upon systems which help our office to run more efficiently, professionally and with profitability. Employees enjoy consistency in their work schedules, with the aim to create a balanced schedule so they do not burn out and can predict set working times so as to plan the rest of their life with good expectation of work/life balance.
Reason position is available is the current Patient Care Coordinator resigned; unable to consistently meet job requirements and work attendance requirements.
