   relief and development organization. In the Pacific Northwest, their Mobile Dental
   Program provides free/low-cost dental care to low-income individuals who have no other
   access to care. Urgent care needs are their priority. Each of their eleven mobile
   units consist of two chairs with x-rays, current up-to-date equipment and instruments
   for all basic dental procedures. Ability to offer care is based solely upon the willingness
   of dental professionals to volunteer.<br /><br />
   This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community and profession through
   a reputable organization. Dental Connections is donating its resources free of charge
   to assist in recruiting licensed dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants. The
   State of Washington Department of Health’s Volunteer/Retired Providers Program will
   provide professional liability insurance and license fee for volunteer participation.
   Dentists may earn up to 7 hours of continuing education credit under WAC 246-817-440.<br /><br />
   The mobile clinics are typically from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Volunteers can commit
   to one day a month, quarter, or year at one of over sixty different sites Monday through
   Saturday throughout the Puget Sound area.<br /><br />
   More than 2 million children and adults in the Pacific Northwest live below federal
   poverty levels. For this and other reasons, many families in Washington State have
   no reasonable access to basic dental care. Their dental needs go untreated and grow
   into severe conditions which can affect sleep, nourishment, and daily function.<br /><br />

   are only available for hygienists.&amp;nbsp; Unfortunately, not enough assistants or business
   staff participated to a produce a large enough sample set.&amp;nbsp; Access the results

   Over 300 dental professionals completed a survey and we hope for greater response
   from assistants and business staff next year.&amp;nbsp; A special thank you to Gene Patterson
   at the WSDHA for helping us promote the survey to their membership.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;
