2008 Salary And Benefits Survey Results Available

This year's Salary and Benefits Survey is finally complete. Results are available for hygienists, assistants, and business staff. Access the results by clicking on Salary Survey from the navigation bar above. You will notice next to each result a "n/a" notation. Please ignore this... it is a feature that will be turned on next year to compare 08 vs. 09 results so you can see trends.

Thank you to everyone who participated. Over 600 dental professionals completed a survey and we hope for even greater participation next year. A special thank you to Gene Patterson at the WSDHA for helping us promote the survey to their membership.

The 2008 Salary and Benefits Survey is active and ready for your participation. This is a non-scientific survey and your answers are strictly confidential. Results will be made available to dental practices and their employees by early Spring. Many of you already have a user account and can log on from the link provided below. New users will need to create an account to submit a survey.

Step 1: Once you are logged on click "Salary Survey" from the navigation bar at the top. This will take you to the salary survey page.

Step 2: Click the "Take the Salary Survey" link in the Survey Results by Profession window.

Step 3: Choose your positions and submit the rest of your answers.

If you are only creating a user account to take the survey Dental Connections will not use your email address for any type of marketing or further communication. If you want to have your user account deleted after taking hte survey you can send an email to info@dentalconnecitons.com and it will be removed.

Dental Volunteers Needed

Medical Team International's Mobile Dental Program needs your help. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community and profession through a reputable organization. Dental Connections is donating its resources free of charge to assist St. Francis Hospital in finding qualified volunteers. Please read on for more details.

Who:
We are looking for dentists and hygienists with a current state license to practice their profession and a desire to share their time and skills with those in need. We are also looking for dental assistants.
For retired dentists and hygienists, the State of Washington Department of Health’s Volunteer/Retired Providers Program will cover your malpractice insurance premiums and dental license renewal fees. Up to 7 hours of continuing education credit annually is available for program volunteers.
What:
Provide free dental care to low-income individuals with urgent needs and no access to dental care. Volunteers make professional practice decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment based upon basic “standard of care” guidelines and individual procedure preferences.
When:
Commit to one day a month, quarter or year.
Where:
St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way . Our mobile dental clinic is held in a 38-foot converted Winnebago motor home, which is outfitted with up-to-date dental equipment and instruments.
Why:
More than 2 million children and adults in the Pacific Northwest live below federal poverty levels. These families cannot afford basic dental care. Many more families earn too much to receive welfare, but too little to afford the escalating cost of insurance or dental care. Their dental needs go untreated and grow into severe conditions. Often these conditions affect sleep, nourishment and daily function.

Application Bugs Fixed

The new site has been up for about a month now and many of the initial bugs we encountered during beta testing have been fixed. Please accept our apologies to any of you that had problems submitting or saving your application. The application is now fixed thanks to our new users' patience and valuable feedback.

In the first month we already have over 300 users! We want to continually improve the site during the development stage so please keep sending user experience feedback. You can simply leave a comment on this blog or send an email to info@dentalconnections.com.

We are currently beta testing our new website and have added many new features to make your experience with our service even better. Dental Connections Nominated Top Place to Work

The South Sound Business Examiner selected Dental Connections for the 2nd time in 3 years in their annual "Top Places to Work" survey for 2007. Over 1000 employees participated in the survey designed to assess employees' opinions on how well their company performs in areas of integrity, appreciation, equity, gratification, and solidarity. It is quite an honor to be recognized and we are proud of our organization's reputation in the community.
